Bedroom pop maestro girlhouse has returned with an excellent new single in the form of ‘worth it’. It’s an amazing slow burn of a track that opens with delicate, soft synth sounds and an isolated lead vocal, before bursting to life with a cacophonous chorus that signals the ever-changing, progressive arrangement that remains present throughout. “This song is about that moment and embodies putting words to a situation that I still don't fully understand yet.” There’s more to come from girlhouse in 2023, but for now, you can check out her recent EP, the third EP, which has received praise from just about everyone who has heard it. -Dan Peeke
